Sadler Team Geared Up for Texas 500
Wednesday April 1st, the Sadler Race Team loaded the cars on the truck and headed west. Emotions were high at the shop as they prepared to qualify at their third NASCAR event of the 1998 season. The team felt confident that they could repeat the success they achieved earlier this year at Daytona. “We have the horsepower!” said team manager Check Sadler, which is going to be the key to getting around the 1.5 mile track in Fort Worth. Last years qualifying was rained out, but the weather looks good for this weekend. Bruton Smith and NASCAR have assured the competitors that the track will be ready to run. Problems have plagued the facility, which has lead to several crashes in testing.
The team showed up at the track last week to test, but were unable to make a single lap. This will hurt the team, but they feel like they can put together a chassis set-up that can handle the conditions. The teams will have an opportunity to get out on the track and practice before qualifying begins on Friday.
We want to wish Andy, Check, Doug and all the guys good luck!! We are all hoping for a safe and successful weekend!!
Be sure to check back next week for pictures and stories from, what should be an exciting Texas 500!!
We appreciate all of the e-mails from our friends and fans. Keep them coming, and keep an eye out for us at the track. Thanks for all of your support!
