Bobby Hamilton Jr. Finishes 5th in the ARCA Winn Dixie 300 at Talladega
On Saturday, Bobby Hamilton Jr. started his first race at Talladega from the eigth postion, and was able to bring the Shoney’s Inn Chevrolet home in fifth place!
Bobby drove hard all day. In the early laps, he went three-wide through the tri-oval, passing cars to the inside. For much of the race, he drafted with Frank Kimmel, who claimed the series championship with a seventh place finish.
It was Bobby Jr.’s third top five finish, in only four ARCA starts. He finished fifth in his first ARCA race at Pocono in June, third at Charlotte last month, and fifth on Saturday. His only poor finish was the August Pocono race, where mechanical problems took him out early.
Bobby’s next race will be the Busch Grand National event at North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, NC on October 31.
